Black Bear Hunting
At Straight Brook Lodge, we offer both Spring and Fall Black Bear Hunting packages.
In the spring time, hunting takes place in comfortable, sturdily built tree stands over bait. We are located in prime black
bear territory (zone # 8). For the spring hunt, the wearing of hunter's orange is not necessary and camoflague clothing is
adequate.
Our fall hunt has two seasons - one for bow hunting only, the other for rifle and
black powder. For fall hunting, wearing of "hunter's orange" is mandatory. Again, black bear hunting is done from comfortable
tree stands over bait.
Licenses are available at the lodge and the services of a nearby taxidermist are
available.

Moose Hunting
In New Brunswick, Moose hunting is allowed based on a "Lottery" where both residents
and non-residents participate in a "draw" for a limited number of hunting permits.
If you are lucky and obtain a permit, then we offer you the opportunity to harvest
that trophy of a lifetime. Our Moose hunting is done by calling, walking or driving. We hunt in zone #8, prime Moose territory
and also have access to other zones if this is what you prefer. Our guides are experienced and knowledgeable of moose habits
and your hunting area.
The services of a local taxidermist are available at a reasonable cost and there
is a gunsmith located a short distance from our lodge.
